I first met Jo of Ms Browns Lounge on a busy street in Byron whilst we were unloading our pieces for the Arts Northern Rivers Pop Up Shop in the old Byron Bay Library. I was so impressed by her awesome work and her humble way. The very clever Rachael Rowe (nee Bending) teamed our Dirty Old Town Furniture with Ms Browns Lounge’s range of prints, cushions and silk scarfs, in both the Byron and Sydney Pop Up Shops – what a combination.
Some people you just click with and Jo is one of those people. Down to earth & oh so honest, we can talk for hours about our common passion for promoting all things handmade and local, we constantly dream & scheme up ideas for future collaborations. Slowly all these dreams are coming together, but as with all good things they take time.
At present we have some of Jo’s work from the Duo Project sitting pretty with our Furniture in the Showroom. A very limited number of hand printed, hand sewn Ms Brown Lounge Cushions that are available for sale. And stay tuned, as there’s plenty more collaborative pieces planned. It’s just the beginning of something wonderful.
